National Accountability Ordinance 1999 has enacted on November 16, 1999…

The purpose of the promulgation of this ordinance is to eradicate corruption and corrupt practices and to take necessary steps against the criminals involving corruptions and corrupt practices…

The Nab national accountability Bureau is establishes under section — of national Accountability Ordinance 1999.

The National Accountability bureau is a federal executive agency with responsibilities of the prevention of corruption and corrupt practices, to raise public awareness, and enforce of anti-corruption measures.

The Nab has its headquarters in Islamabad and 5 provinces.

The Nab divisions are…

Operation, Human resource and finance division, prosecution and awareness and prevention…

The National Accountability Courts are also established in all provinces and Islamabad capital territory for just and quick justice.

The plea bargain is one step allowed by the ordinance if anyone/accused is interested to bargain with Nab for their allegations then subject to satisfaction of the bureau the matter can be bargained on the plea of accused person with condition to pay back the alleged corruption amount and mostly in Pakistan many accused has filed plea for bargain and settled the cases.

The Code of criminal procedure is followed as a criminal procedure code and all the criminal litigation stages are followed.

A person/ accused aggrieved of the decision/ judgment of Nab court can file an appeal before High court.
